1.) Zipper Lubricant
2.) Firestarter
3.) Protective coating for Carbon Steel-Based items such as knifes, etc.
4.) Stop bleeding from a nick or cut from shaving.
5.) Use a improvised sunscreen as most chapstick is SPF15 or SPF30.
Good stuff to have in a kit for a buck or under!

Just found your blog this morning Steve and had to post a comment on your Lip Balm blurb. Very informative and a totally usable piece of EDC gear, to be sure!
I picked up a lip balm a month ago at the Dollarama store. This one came in a semi-water proof, blue plastic tube container. It was like a special 2 for 1 sale or something, to me. :-)
Now the sleek blue container holds a cotton ball and a little survival gear and the lip balm itself, lives in my jacket pocket, along with my smallest Firestik. :-)
